Practical Test
Practical Test
In your practical test, you have 40 minutes to demonstrate everything you have learned in your driving lessons.
You need to show you can drive competently and safely in all kinds of driving situations. You'll be asked to do one of the four reversing manoeuvres you've practised with your instructor, and possibly make an emergency stop.
To pass the practical part of the test, you will have to complete it with no serious faults, and you must have 15 or fewer minor errors.
The current price for a weekday driving test is £62.
You can book your practical driving test here.Independent Driving
From October 2010 the DSA added an extra part to the driving test.
You'll also have 10 minutes of independent driving. If you want more information on this then you can get more details by watching the video above.
Show Me, Tell Me Questions
You'll also answer two vehicle safety check questions, one 'show me' and one 'tell me'. You can view 3 videos of these questions here.
